Reiki Session

靈氣 (灵气)

We will explore here as to what to expect during your typical Reiki session, how to prepare yourself before your come in for your session, and how to take care of yourself after your treatment.

So you've booked your first Reiki session and now you're curious as to what a typical Reiki treatment looks/feels like. Depending on the type, an in-person or a distance Reiki session, the process will be somewhat different.

Prior to your Reiki session, it's best to you give yourself enough time to wind down and 'leave behind' your daily life. Also, refrain from drinking alcohol, any physical exertion and avoid excitement. You're encouraged to dress comfortably and remove jewelry, so that your body is not restricted by any tight clothing. While you will remain clothed thought, it is important to dress in layers as the temperature may rise or drop during and after the Reiki session. Wearing socks is encouraged. Also drink enough fluids to hydrate your body to make your body a better conductor of energy, and make a stop at the restroom to ensure uninterrupted and comfortable treatment.

Right before your Reiki session, let go of your day as much as possible and set your intention to receive as much healing energy as it is for you possible at the time. Usually soft, soothing background music is being played in the background. Sometimes, one might want to dim the lights, light candles, and/or incense.

As for distance treatment, mutual times are arranged via e-mail or phone before your Reiki session. At the appointed time, the receiver of the Reiki treatment will find a comfortable place to relax, put on some soothing music, and perhaps have subdued lighting and candles, and put himself in a receptive state either sitting or lying down.

Doing your Reiki session, both in-person or distant, you may feel tingling or energy moving through your body. You may feel sensations such as warmth or coolness, see colors, feel light or heavy, or simply fall asleep. While fully aware, you may let yourself drift into a deep state of relaxation. The feeling of wellbeing and relaxation may stay with you for many hours or even days following treatment.

After your Reiki session, it is prudent that you refrain from drinking alcohol, any physical exertion and avoid excitement. Drinking plenty of water will help to flush out any unwanted energy released during the session. And most importantly, give yourself enough time to rest and remain in a quiescent state to allow for healing energy to better integrate and sustain the new energetic patterns imprinted during each treatment to support your spiritual, mental, and body healing.

So reserve your Reiki session today and experience the joy of natural healing.
